The first season, which was to be played between December 2014 and January 2015, was unsuccessful as only one of the six companies that expressed interest in investing managed to offer a Bank guarantee of more than three million dollars.
In 2015, the interest of sponsors and investors in the PSL was enough to officially launch the league. Najam Sethi was then the head of PCB`s executive committee and after two years of speculation, the PSL was launched. His efforts in making this a reality are highly ap[appreciated in Pakistan.
